Where To Eat in Carlingford and Mourne
Carlingford and Mourne have a wonderful selection of restaurants, cafés, bar and hotel restaurants, enough to satisfy even the most discerning palettes.
If you go to Kilkeel in Co Down you will find a restaurant, who on four occasions has won the award for the best fish and chips served on these islands. They use only fish caught and landed daily by one of the largest fishing fleets in Ireland. Nearly all the fish served in the hotels and restaurants in the region, originate from Kilkeel.
If there are Oysters and wild mussels on the menu they have been harvested from the clean waters of Carlingford Lough. Lobsters are caught in creels in local waters. All meats, vegetables and herbs have been produced locally from the rich pasture lands of the region.
